I have removed all McAfee services, like Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, but I still could not proceed when I last tried to uninstall the McAfee Security Services Center. The error message was:”…you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first…“.
I uninstalled all McAfee services first, then went to Control Panel–> Add/Remove Programs. But it would not let me remove it. I alway get a screen with the the message saying “In order to uninstall McAfee SecurityCenter, you need to uninstall all McAfee Security Services first.”
Working Solution based on the search result from the Internet:
- Go to the program installation directory, usually it is under the system root driver (C:). And the directory should be C:\Program Files\.
- Open McAfee.com folder, and then agent, then app directory.
- Delete any files that end with .adf extension in that folder.
- Go back into Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs, locate McAfee SecurityCenter, and click Remove.
- If you see any components, check-mark all the various McAfee components (Spam Killer,Firewall, etc.), click uninstall, click yes if you are prompted to confirm.
- You will have to restart the computer after the un-install process completes.
Thanks this really helped me ^^.
