How to resolve the Outlook Form issues

Outlook_FormIssues:

Today I got complains from one of my co-workers saying he could not open the Leave Request Outlook form, which designed by me a long while ago and put in the Oragnization Form library.

Solutions:

Even I did not see the error messages, but I provide the following trouble shoot steps I normally took to trouble shoot Outlook Forms. It worked this time again, so I decided to post here for future reference. Note: the menu options are referenced in Outlook 2003 (for any version of Outlook, please use your own imaginations).

  1. Go to Tools, Options.
  2. Click Other tab, then click the Advanced Options button.
  3. On Advanced Options dialog window, click Custom Form… button, on the new Options dialog window, click Manage Forms… button
  4. On the Forms Manager (screen below), click Clear Cache button first to make sure no problem cached locally.
  5. On the right side, there are some Outlook Forms reside on user’s local machine. If you do not see any, then skip the step 6 below.
  6. If there are some forms on the right, then expand the plus sign (+) on the right till you can click the individual form (or you can uncheck show categories to show all forms). And click the Delete button to delete them from the Personal Forms on the local machine. Be caution: only delete forms on the right side!! After you finish deletions, you can ask the user to try again. Or continue to the next step.
  7. This step is only needed if it still does not work after step 6 or step 6 can be skipped. Now, expand the forms on the left side, and select respective forms and click the Copy button to copy forms to user’s local machine.
  8. After you are done, click Close to exit the options windows. If it is necessary, ask the user Restart his Outlook.

Hope it will be helpful.
