How to install Windows 7/8/10 on GPT partition

While installing the OS on a corrupted PC, I had a problem which prevent the installation from be happened.

When I selected a partition, there was a message shown on the screen as “windows cannot be installed to disk 0 partition 2. (show details)”. And when I clicked the link of “show details”, another prompt window showed the following error messages:

windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style.

I searched the Internet, and ensured that I have booted into the computer in UEFI mode, but the error message still existed.

I had no choice, but used the method below to clean the disk with Diskpart utility.

1. Boot up to installation DVD/CD.
2. Click install but don’t follow through.
3. Press SHIFT-F10 to bring up console.
4. Type “diskpart”
5. Once inside diskpart type:
-> list disk (find the one you want to convert)
-> select disk 0 (select the one you want from the list)
-> clean (wait an hour or so until its done)
-> quit
6. Continue with install
