The Department of Transportation (DOT) issued its China Order today setting up the process for the route selection for new
service through 2009
Delta Air Lines intends to submit an application to the DOT for route authority to begin daily nonstop service between
. Among the many things the DOT will consider in awarding the route is the level of civic support – another words how many people in the community support Delta’s bid for China service – in this case, the community comprises Atlanta, the State of Georgia and the entire Southeast US.
Delta launched a new website today called “NextGatewayToChina.com. There you can review interesting information about why Delta Air Lines believes that
is the ideal gateway and why Delta are the best carrier for the
service. You can also sign an electronic petition in support of Delta’s bid. Your name, along with thousands of others, will become part of Delta’s official route application package and will be formally submitted to the DOT in July.
